Manual Spam Action or "Pure Spam" Removal and Recovery

Manual Spam Action - Pure Spam : The Google search team takes extreme exception to what they consider to be spammy or thin insubstantial content on a website. If your website is hit with a manual spam penalty you will see this notification below from Google in your Webmaster account.

If you have been affected by this penalty, please contact us today for a FREE assessment!

Some examples of what Google considers websites with thin or spammy content include:

  • Sites that copy and republish content from other sites without adding any original content or value
  • Sites that copy content from other sites, modify it slightly and then republish it
  • Site that reproduce content feeds from other sites without providing some type of unique organization or benefit to the user
  • Sites dedicated to embedding content such as video, images or other media from other sites without substantial added value to the user
  • And any site that generally has no purpose or no added value to those who may read it. Rule of thumb: if it has no value to the searcher, Google does not want to display the page high in their search engine results.

The Google search team will penalize your domain for all or any of the examples of spammy content listed above. However, to be sure that your domain is in compliance with Google Quality Guidelines be sure to review them in detail before posting any content on your website.

This penalty is manually imposed. Someone on Google's Quality Team literally inspects your website and back-link profile to see if you have violated their guidelines. In the push of a button, your website is then penalized, should they decide you have in fact violated their terms.

Fixing This Penalty...

The good news is, you know that you have a penalty. Many penalties these days are based on speculation. Google doesn't always send a letter if you have an algorithm related problem. The fact that you are aware of your penalty puts you at an advantage. The first step in fixing this issue is making sure your website is fully compliant with the Webmaster Quality Guidelines. This applies to your physical website, content and backlink profile.

After fixing all of your problems, it's time to disavow and prepare a reconsideration letter. Along the way there are certain strategies that can be applied to increase the odds of your penalty being revoked. That we will discuss during our consultation.
